    The textbook is intended for 1-2 year students of language specialities who are studying to become an English teacher. The textbook covers the following conversation topics: "Personality and family", "My house/apartment", "Food, nutrition", "Student life, studies", "Weather, seasons, leisure" and "Shops, shopping". The purpose of the textbook is to develop and improve students' foreign language listening and communicative competences in accordance with the defined programme topics. The materials in the textbook are authentic, thematically integrated and have a linguistic and sociocultural focus. The textbook is compiled in accordance with the working curriculum for the discipline "English" (1st and 2nd year of study) and is recommended for classroom and independent work of higher education students with the specified qualification.
