Методика навчання майбутніх учителів англійської мови мовленнєвої адаптації

Abstract

Статтю присвячено розв’язанню проблеми навчання мовленнєвої адаптації майбутніх учителів англійської мови – студентів третіх курсів закладів вищої освіти. Представлено обґрунтування, результати практичного розроблення й експериментальної перевірки методики навчання мовленнєвої адаптації. Досліджено теоретичні передумови формування вмінь мовленнєвої адаптації в майбутніх учителів англійської мови: визначено зміст навчання мовленнєвої адаптації, конкретизовано та науково обґрунтовано сутність понять “мовленнєва адаптація” і “комплексна мовленнєва адаптація”, виокремлено найбільш ефективні шляхи покращення сприйняття навчальної інформації учнями. Виділено принципи відбору навчальних матеріалів; теоретично обґрунтовано і практично розроблено підсистему вправ і модель навчання студентів мовленнєвої адаптації. Представлено результати експериментального навчання мовленнєвої адаптації майбутніх учителів англійської мови.

Introduction. The article focuses on the problem of teaching speech adaptation to the third-year students of foreign languages departments who are trained to be future English language teachers. The teacher talk adaptation is carried by means of speech modifications at different linguistic levels. It helps to increase the comprehensibility of the teacher talk which is its essential characteristic. The teacher trainees should master the effective ways of presenting comprehensible input to facilitate pupils’ learning during the lesson. Purpose. To provide theoretical substantiation, practical elaboration and experimental verification of the methodology of teaching speech adaptation to future English language teachers during English Practice classes. Methods. The current state of scientific ideas concerning the problem of developing professionally oriented speaking skills has been analyzed; the theoretical prerequisites for developing speech adaptation skills of future language teachers have been investigated. Results. The notions of speech adaptation and complex speech adaptation have been specified; the most effective ways for increasing the pupils’ input comprehension are defined; the content of speech adaptation teaching is substantiated. The subsystem of activities for developing speech adaptation skills has been presented; the model of the teaching process has been worked out. The experimental teaching proves the validity of the suggested methodology; its optimal variant has been substantiated. Conclusion. To sum up, it has been grounded that introducing the suggested methodology of teaching speech adaptation to future English language teachers using written reflection during microteaching and self-assessment is the necessary condition for developing University students’ professionally oriented speaking skills and the professionalization of the English Practice classes.
