The article investigates the impact of music art on the development of cognitive competence in younger schoolchildren. The article has demonstrated that music art impacts the development of cognitive competence in younger schoolchildren in various aspects. We have identified a range of ways in which music contributes to the development of cognitive skills in younger schoolchildren: 1. Development of auditory perception: Music helps children develop attention, concentration, and focus. They learn to distinguish different musical instruments, sounds, and rhythms. This contributes to the development of their auditory perception and the ability to perceive details in music, which can be beneficial in learning and understanding other subjects. 2. Improvement of language and communication skills: Music lessons contribute to the development of language skills as they involve singing, recitation, listening, and discussing musical works. They teach children to express their thoughts and feelings effectively, improve their articulation, intonation, and auditory skills. 3. Stimulating creativity and imagination: Music art fosters the development of children's creative abilities. It inspires their imagination and encourages them to create their own musical works, engage in improvisation, and experiment with sounds. This enhances their creativity and the ability to think outside the box, which are important skills in learning and problem‐solving. 4. Enhancing cognitive skills: Research shows that music can improve memory, attention, logical thinking, and analytical abilities in children. They learn to recognize patterns, sequences, and structures in music, which helps them develop their cognitive abilities. 5. Promoting emotional development: Music has a strong emotional impact on children. It can evoke joy, sadness, excitement, or calmness. Through music, children learn to recognize and express their own emotions, understand the emotional expression in musical works, and develop emotional intelligence. Further research is needed to explore the formation of cognitive competence in younger schoolchildren through the means of music art.
