dc.description.abstractУ статті схарактеризовано особливості формування іншомовної фонетичної компетентності майбутніх учителів англійської мови початкової школи як компонента їх методично-професійної компетентності під час вивчення навчальної дисципліни «Теоретичні основи початкового курсу англійської мови». Конкретизовано програмні компетентності та результати вивчення навчальної дисципліни, подано алгоритм формування артикуляційних навичок здобувачів вищої освіти на основі авторських матеріалів. Наголошено на необхідності професійно орієнтованого засвоєння фонетичних знань і врахування педагогічної фонетики під час підготовки майбутніх фахівців до навчання іноземної мови в початковій школі.uk_UA
dc.description.abstractThe article deals with the peculiarities of formation of foreign language phonetic competence of future primary school English teachers as a component of their methodological and professional competence while learning the discipline "Theoretical basis of primary course of English". It has been analyzed the syllable competences and learning outcomes concerning the phonetical training of students. The structure of formation of the learners’ articulation skills on the basis of the author’s materials is given. In lectures the theoretical information on the classification of vowels/consonants, features of their pronunciation, contrasting with similar phonemes, the difficulties of mastering English vowels/consonants by Ukrainian students are covered. In practical classes, students work according to the following algorithm: learn the theoretical material on phonemes pronunciation, watch videos with native speakers teaching to pronounce phonemes correctly, establish sound-letter correspondences, practice pronunciation of phonemes (in isolation, in words, phrases and speech continuum), compare phonemes with similar or contrasting English/Ukrainian phonemes. Formation of future foreign language teachers’ phonetic competence is carried out on the basis of mastering the knowledge of linguistic phonetics. However, the professional and methodological orientation of students to teaching phonetics of a foreign language in primary school is extremely important in this process. It is emphasized that in order to form junior pupils’ phonetic competence at an approximate level, future teachers should take into account the methodological principle of comparative analysis of phonological systems of native and foreign languages, according to which the method of phoneme presentation, choice and number of exercises for the formation of receptive and reproductive skills is defined by the phoneme’s nature and its similarity with native language phonemes. Such approach lays the foundations of correct pronunciation, which is the basic characteristic of the language, foundation for the development and improvement of foreign language skills. The formed phonetic culture of a foreign language teacher contributes to the solution of the main problems of mastering English phonetics at the primary stage. The prospect for further research includes the analysis of distance learning technologies used in the process of training a foreign language teacher of a primary school.uk_UA
