dc.description.abstractСтаттю присвячено розвитку електронної музики й музичної освіти у США та України у другій половині XX ст. Розкрито особливості впливу технічного прогресу на формування нових підходів до музичної освіти, зокрема створення електронних студій при університетах США та оновлення навчальних програм. Висвітлено політичні, культурні та технологічні чинники, що впливали на розвиток електронної музики та музичної освіти в цей період. Порівняльний аналіз дозволив виявити ключові відмінності у підходах до музичної освіти та підкреслити актуальність подальших досліджень для осмислення історичної спадщини й вдосконалення сучасних методик викладання електронної музики.
dc.description.abstractThe article deals with the development of electronic music and its integration into music education during the second half of the 20th century, with a comparative analysis of the United States and Soviet Ukraine. The research aims to elucidate the complex interactions between technological innovation, sociopolitical frameworks, and pedagogical practices, highlighting the divergent trajectories of musical education in open versus ideologically constrained contexts. A comprehensive methodological framework was employed, combining analytical, synthetic, and generalization techniques to systematize both domestic and international scholarship on electronic music and music pedagogy. Content analysis of historical, musicological, and pedagogical sources facilitated the identification of key conceptual frameworks, methodological trends, and unresolved challenges. The systemstructural approach enabled conceptualizing electronic music as an integral component of the educational process, while the historical-cultural perspective illuminated the influence of political, ideological, and cultural determinants on pedagogical development. Comparative methods allowed for the identification of convergences and divergences between the U.S. and Soviet Ukrainian educational models. The findings reveal a marked divergence in the institutionalization and practical implementation of electronic music. In the United States, the establishment of electronic studios, widespread adoption of synthesizers, audiovisual tools, and computer-assisted instruction fostered a technologically mediated, dynamic pedagogical environment. In contrast, Soviet Ukraine’s educational practices were constrained by centralized ideological control, limiting systematic integration of electronic music. The practical significance of the study lies in its capacity to inform contemporary music education by illustrating how technological innovation can enhance curriculum design, instructional methods, and creative engagement. In conclusion, the research establishes that the evolution of electronic music and pedagogical practice in the latter half of the twentieth century was profoundly shaped by the interplay of technological, cultural, and political factors. Future research should focus on the systematic reconstruction of Soviet Ukrainian pedagogical practices, critical analysis of historical legacies, and the application of these insights to advance contemporary electronic music education and innovative teaching methodologies.
