This article explores the transformation of agro-industrial capital in the context of the emerging trend of glocalization, which reflects a dialectical interaction between global economic integration and increasing localization of economic processes. The author analyzes how major agribusiness actors – especially large-scale agroholdings – are adapting their strategies and operations in response to shifting global dynamics, such as market fragmentation, food security risks, technological transitions, and the slowdown of classical globalization processes. Special attention is given to the dual forms of agro-industrial integration: vertical integration, which consolidates all stages of production from cultivation to processing and distribution, and horizontal integration, which encourages cooperation and specialization among agricultural enterprises. Through the analysis of global agroholding companies such as Archer Daniels Midland (ADM), Bunge, Cargill, and Louis Dreyfus Company, the article demonstrates the increasing role of these entities in shaping new value chains across regions and sectors. The paper highlights the challenges posed by economic fragmentation, geopolitical instability, and environmental pressures, which undermine the efficiency and predictability of global agrifood markets. At the same time, glocalization is presented as both a threat and an opportunity for agro-industrial capital, forcing corporations to balance global-scale economies with sensitivity to local institutional and resource-based constraints. The diversification of investment strategies, the growing use of high technologies (Industry 4.0, IoT, bioenergy), and engagement with local communities are identified as key adaptive responses to this new landscape. The study concludes that agro-industrial capital remains more flexible and resilient than traditional agricultural production models, capable of adjusting its value chains and investment flows across multiple jurisdictions. However, the lack of transparency in the reporting practices of some agroholdings and the terminological inconsistencies in international discourse complicate precise tracking and regulation of these actors. As glocalization continues to evolve, there is a growing need for interdisciplinary frameworks to evaluate the socio-economic and environmental implications of agro-industrial integration at both global and local levels.
