Анотація
У статті висвітлено сучасний стан професійної підготовки фахівців у галузі біомедичної інженерії в закладах вищої освіти країн Європейського Союзу на прикладі Польщі та Німеччини. Окреслено особливості реалізації проєкту BIOMEDEA, у межах якого було розроблено рекомендації та настанови, що стали каталізатором створення нових освітніх програм і трансформації структур вищої освіти. Доведено, що досвід Польщі та Німеччини демонструє успішну імплементацію моделей професійної підготовки фахівців у галузі біомедичної інженерії у структурі Болонського процесу. Показано, що Польща зберігає традиції інженерної освіти в біомедичній сфері, вдало інтегруючи сучасні стандарти EHEA. Німеччина активно проводить освітні реформи, що підвищують прозорість, якість та мобільність, а університетські мережі й програми підсилюють академічну співпрацю й міжнародне визнання.
The article examines the current state of professional training of specialists in biomedical engineering in higher education institutions of the European Union countries, with particular attention to the cases of Poland and Germany. Biomedical engineering, as an interdisciplinary field that combines engineering sciences, medicine, biology, and information technologies, requires a rethinking of traditional educational approaches and the implementation of innovative models of higher education. A special focus is given to the BIOMEDEA project, which formulated recommendations and guidelines that acted as a catalyst for the development of new curricula and the transformation of existing educational structures in Europe. The project highlighted the necessity of harmonizing biomedical engineering programs with the requirements of modern healthcare systems, regulatory frameworks such as the EU Medical Device Regulation, and the growing demand for specialists with both engineering and clinical competencies. The comparative analysis demonstrates that Poland and Germany represent successful examples of implementing professional training models in biomedical engineering within the structure of the Bologna Process. Poland preserves its strong traditions of engineering education, adapting them to the needs of the biomedical sector while integrating contemporary standards of the European Higher Education Area. German universities, in turn, actively pursue educational reforms that enhance quality assurance mechanisms, promote interdisciplinary approaches, and expand opportunities for international cooperation. The article emphasizes that German higher education system places particular importance on transparency, international accreditation, and joint degree programs, which significantly strengthen academic collaboration and recognition of biomedical engineering qualifications across Europe. In Poland, the balance between classical engineering foundations and new interdisciplinary modules provides students with a solid professional background while ensuring adaptability to technological innovations and labor market demands.
