dc.description.abstractPurpose of the work is to elucidate the history of the establishment and stages of activity of the Organisation for the State Revival of Ukraine in the United States.Research methodology. The article is based on the principles of objectivity and historicism, employing methods of source criticism – work with archival documents from the Central State Archive of Public Associations and Ukrainica (TsDAHOU), diaspora periodicals («Visnyk ODVU», «Samostiina Ukraina», «Svoboda»), the historical-genetic method – tracing the emergence and evolution of ODVU from its foundation in 1931 to the restoration of Ukraine’s independence, the problem-chronological method – sequential exposition of the stages of the organisation’s activity, the structural-functional method – analysis of ODVU’s organisational structure, and the comparative-historical method – comparison of different stages of the organisation’s activity and its interaction with other structures (OUN, World Coordinating Council of Ideologically Related Nationalist Organisations).Scientific noveltylies in the fact that the history of the Organisation for the State Revival of Ukraine has not become the subject of comprehensive scholarly research due to the prolonged inaccessibility of sources to Ukrainian academics; thus, the article represents the first attempt in Ukrainian historiography to comprehensively examine the outlined topic in light of new archival materials.Conclusions.The Organisation for the State Revival of Ukraine played a significant role in forming the nationalist and state-building worldview of the Ukrainian emigration. The organisation united several generations of the Ukrainian diaspora and, despite the distance from the homeland, supported the Ukrainian liberation movement, providing material and informational assistance. ODVU managed to overcome a series of crises and expand its network of organisational centres, some of which continue to function today, whilst also implementing measures that contributed to the restoration of Ukraine’s independence and the preservation of national identity amongst Ukrainians abroad
dc.description.abstractМета роботи полягає в тому, щоб висвітлити історію створення та етапів діяльності Організації Державного Відродження України у США.Методологія дослідження: стаття ґрунтується на принципах об’єктивності та історизму, в ній використано методи джерелознавчої критики – робота з архівними документами ЦДАГОУ, періодичними виданнями діаспори («Вісник ОДВУ», «Самостійна Україна», «Свобода»), історико-генетичний метод – відстеження виникнення та еволюції ОДВУ від заснування 1931р. до відновлення незалежності України, проблемно-хронологічний метод – послідовний виклад етапів діяльності організації, структурно-функціональний метод – аналіз організаційної структури ОДВУ, порівняльно-історичний метод – порівняння різних етапів діяльності організації та її взаємодії з іншими структурами (ОУН, СКР ІСНО).Наукова новизна полягає в тому, що історія Організації Державного Відродження України не стала об’єктом комплексних наукових досліджень через тривалу недоступність джерел для українських науковців, тож стаття є першою в українській історіографії спробою всебічно розглянути окреслену тему з урахуванням нових архівних матеріалів.Висновки. Організація Державного Відродження України відіграла значну роль у формуванні націоналістичного та державницького світогляду української еміграції. Організація поєднала декілька поколінь української діаспори та, незважаючи на віддаленість від Батьківщини, підтримувала український визвольний рух, надавала матеріальну та інформаційну підтримку. ОДВУ вдалося подолати ряд криз та розширити мережу організаційних осередків, частина яких функціонує й нині, а також реалізовувати заходи, що сприяли відновленню незалежності України та збереженню національної ідентичності у зарубіжних українців.
