dc.description.abstractМетою написання статті стало з'ясування рис академічної, у тому числі й професійно-педагогічної, культури в розрізі особистості Якима Якимовича Яреми, та визначення на цій основі інституційних рис національної академічної культури дорадянського періоду. Результати проведених теоретичних та практичних досліджень дозволили зробити висновок, що Яким Ярема є не лише її представником, а й творцем. Завдяки вивченню індивідуальних характеристик його наукової, професійно-педагогічної культури визначені компоненти національної академічної культури початку ХХ століття (до її зміни на радянську), в основі дієвості якої, - особисті відповідальність і компетентність.uk_UA
dc.description.abstractThe purpose of the article is to find out the features of academic culture, including professional-pedagogical, in the context of the personality of Yakym Yakymovych Yarema (1884-1964), Ukrainian teacher, psychologist, philosopher and philologist. On this basis, the identification of the institutional features of the national academic culture of the pre-soviet period was done. The uniqueness of the figure of Ya. Yarema in the aspect of studying the national academic culture is that he has combined a lot of different factors, which influence its quality, and all of them are in line with the history of Ukraine, which enables generalizations. The first of these is the variety of cultures, including academic Ukrainian, Polish, Austrian, Czech, and Soviet. Secondly, Yakim Yarema's practical activities were connected with various aspects of cultural and educational life (teaching, directing, teaching, and head of the department). The third factor influencing the academic culture is the combination of labour experience in emigration, occupation, and periods of statehood absence. The results of conducted theoretical and practical research with the use of appropriate methods (content analysis, synthesis, comparison, descriptive, distributive analysis, and method of studying archival materials, interviews, method of biography and memoirs sources study) allowed concluding that Yakym Yakymovych is not only a representative, but also the creator of the national academic culture. In this regard, the following features of his individual academic code are defined: respect for teachers and colleagues and strict adherence to communicative ethics and subordination; uncompromising attitude toward people outside the academic environment; a tough position regarding the inadmissibility of access to the professional discussion of incompetent participants; balance, restraint and respect for pupils, students, colleges; high academic integrity, pedanticity in the use of the ideas of other authors, scrupulosity in citation; the criticality of the analysis and the ironic nature of criticism in scientific discussion; target orientation of the scientific text on the audience. The components of the national academic, including professional-pedagogical, culture of the beginning of the twentieth century (before its change into Soviet) were determined on the basis of these features. This structure is pyramidal-hierarchical, in its basis - the active subjectivity of the participants in academic interactions, the top is the academic elite. At the basis of the effectiveness of the academic culture of that period lies personal responsibility and competence. Perspectives for further research on the scientific and pedagogical heritage of Yakym Yarema are determined by the need to identify those features of academic culture, which have a historical and methodological basis, are therefore organic, thus contributing to the new formation of Ukrainian academic culture.uk_UA
