В покажчику «Сумщина в краєзнавчих дослідженнях» з достатньою повнотою відображена різна по змісту, типам, видам друкована продукція про Сумщину (книги, розділи, окремі параграфи, статті із науково-методичних збірників та видань, що продовжуються, газетні, журнальні статті). Хронологічні рамки наукових досліджень викладачів стосовно рідного краю охоплюють 1998–2003 роки. Бібліографічний покажчик розрахований на науковців, аспірантів, докторантів, викладачів та керівників закладів освіти різного типу, слухачів інституту післядипломної освіти, працівників управлінь, відділів освіти при обласних міських та районних державних адміністрацій, екскурсоводів, лекторів, членів товариств охорони природи, пам’ятників історії та культури, студентську та учнівську молодь, гуртківців, краєзнавців.

The chronological framework of the teachers' scientific research on their native land covers the years 1998–2003.
