Анотація
У статті представлений аналіз мовної політики Китаю. Наголошується, що мовна експансія Китаю є результатом зростання економічної могутності КНР. Дається тезисна оцінка основних тенденцій економіки Китаю з огляду на цілі дослідження. Стверджується, що перетворення Китаю на одну з найпотужніших економік світу сприяє суттєвій зміні картини світових економічних і політичних відносин, а також і мовної картини світу. Вивчення китайської мови перетворюється для багатьох на засіб успішного кар’єрного росту, дає можливість знайти престижну роботу, відкриває доступ до величезного ринку праці тощо. Систематизуються напрями діяльності щодо просування китайської мови у світі, зокрема в Україні.
This paper dwells on the analysis of the language policy of China. It is noted that the expansion of the Chinese language (Mandarin) results from the growth of economic power of China. The author highlights the main trends in the Chinese economy for the purposes of the research. It has been stated that the transformation of China into one of the most powerful economies in the world contributes both to significant changes of global economic and political relations patterns and the linguistic map of the world. Learning Chinese language is becoming an indispensable condition for a successful career, it gives an opportunity to find a prestigious job, provides an access to a huge labour market etc. The author gives examples of some activities undertaken by China in order to promote Mandarin throughout the world, including Ukraine. The prevailing one is granting international students with state scholarships in order to study in China. Another way of the linguistic expansion is «virus-like» worldwide establishment of Confucius Institutes. The latter pursues the following goals: to give the opportunity to learn the Chinese language, to spread Chinese culture, to organise the research conferences, to promote the language and culture through events and competitions, dedicated to China, to carry the language proficiency test (HSK), to develop and publish the textbooks of the Chinese language etc. On top of that China efficiently uses its Diaspora and Overseas Associations as a tool of the language expansion policy. International promotion of teaching of the Chinese language is also considered as one of the areas of the language expansion policy. Since 2009 the discipline «the Chinese language» has been integrated in curricular of more than 2,500 higher education establishments in over 100 countries. Besides there is a need for 5 million teachers of Chinese as a foreign language worldwide. Relevant organizations in China are making efforts to train professionals with international certificates in order to work abroad as teachers of Chinese. It is suggested that similar to English, Chinese (Mandarin) is being transformed into an export commodity and China carries out the active foreign policy for its dissemination with its dissemination. It is also concluded that the language policy has become one of the important components of building a positive image of China abroad. It is noted that the positive experience of China in the language area deserves further consideration.
