    The manual includes lectures on the major historical and cultural events of the United Kingdom and the United States from ancient times to the present as well as some linguistic aspects of both nations’ development. Significant attention is paid to the peculiarities and tendencies of the educational systems of these countries. In addition to the lecture texts, the manual contains tests and questions for self-control that allow students to check the level of their understanding historical events, and contribute to the development of discussion and communication skills and greatly expand students’ outlook.
