Авторка ставила за мету осмислення сутності інтеркультурної компетентності фахівця охорони здоров’я, її місця в структурі професійної компетентності медиків, обґрунтування важливості та змісту викладання освітнього компонента «Англійська мова в міжкультурній компетентності медичного працівника». На основі узагальнення інформаційного масиву з досліджуваної теми і результатів опитування доведено, що полікультурна компетентність є важливим компонентом фахової компетентності медика, для її формування необхідно ввести вивчення відповідної дисципліни та розробити методичне забезпечення для її опанування. Проаналізовано зміст розробленого посібника та доведено практичну доцільність його використання, окреслено перспективи подальшого наукового пошуку.Formation of Higher Medical Education Seekers. The article deals with an important problem – the intercultural competency of a medical specialist. The author of the article draws attention to the special relevance of the issue under research for the current situation of Ukraine, which is in war conditions. The article is aimed to understanding the essence of the intercultural competency of a health care specialist, its place in the structure of the medical specialist’s professional competency, to justify the importance and content of teaching the educational component «English in the Intercultural Competency of a Medical Specialist». Based on the generalization of the information array on the topic under research, it has been proven that multicultural competency is an important component of the professional competency of a health care specialist, and its content is broader than that of other specialties. A short analysis of the survey of higher education seekers in the Branch of Knowledge 22 Health Care is presented. It demonstrated significant problems regarding the formation of the components of multicultural competency of future medical professionals. The analysis of the questionnaire results determined the need to introduce the study of an optional educational component and the feasibility of developing a syllabus and educational and methodological support for its mastery. The author of the article provides a detailed analysis of the educational content of the developed by her own manual «English in the Intercultural Competency of a Medical Specialist», gives examples for the formation of communicative and cultural competency of English‐speaking culture. Teaching an optional discipline to students of two groups proved the feasibility of studying «English in the Intercultural Competencyy of a Medical Specialist» and using the appropriate manual. It is indicated on the previous positive results of training and the interest of education seekers in the content of the educational material, its practical value and the educational component, in general. A conclusion is made regarding the logical content, capacity and informativeness of the developed manual.
