Для досягнення поставленої мети було використано такі теоретичні методи: аналіз наукової літератури з проблеми дослідження; інтерпретаційно‐аналітичний метод, синтез, систематизація, узагальнення. Актуалізовано науковий дискурс стосовно розуміння сутності підприємницької компетентності. У площині наукового дискурсу для чіткості дефініціювання уточнено позиції вчених щодо трактування поняття «підприємницька компетентність» через аналіз його словотвірних компонент «компетентність» і «підприємництво». На підставі проведеного аналізу запропоновано авторське трактування підприємницької компетентності.The article analyzes scientific positions on the interpretation of the concept of "entrepreneurial competence". To achieve the goal, the following theoretical methods were used: analysis of scientific literature on the research problem; interpretative and analytical method, synthesis, systematization, generalization. The scientific discourse on the understanding of the essence of entrepreneurial competence has been updated. In the plane of sentific discourse, for clarity of definition, the positions of scientists regarding the interprcietation of the concept of "entrepreneurial competence" have been clarified through the analysis of its word‐forming components "competence" and "entrepreneurship". According to the Law of Ukraine "On Education", "competence" is characterized as "a dynamic combination of knowledge, abilities, skills, ways of thinking, views, values, and other personal qualities that determine a person's ability to successfully socialize, conduct professional and/or further educational activities". It was established that, according to many Ukrainian scientists, competence is not limited to knowledge and skills in quantitative terms. But without knowledge and personal experience, acquiring key competencies is impossible. Moreover, the acquisition of competences depends on activity, a conscious attitude to various types of activities (work, study, etc.). Entrepreneurship is most often interpreted as the quality of opportunities and ideas manifested in the ability to translate them into value for others. Analytical activity carried out regarding the interpretation of the concept of "entrepreneurial competence" showed that this issue has been worked out by many scientists, but mostly in the field of professional education.
