Методологічною основою дослідження стали загальнонаукові та спеціальні методи дослідження. Авторами проведено аналіз основних показників, що характеризують особливості використання платіжних карток. Доведено, що на початок 2024 р. продовжує зберігатися позитивна тенденція зростання безготівкових розрахунків та розширення платіжної інфраструктури. Зокрема, проаналізовано загальні дані про кількість клієнтів, платіжних карток та платіжних пристроїв протягом 2020–2024 рр. Також проаналізовано кількість і суму операцій, здійснених з використанням платіжних карток. Доведено, що популярність електронних платіжних систем серед українських споживачів зростає. Узагальнено основні стратегічні тенденції розвитку платіжних систем в Україні та наведено напрями подальших наукових досліджень.International financial markets are characterized by the growing role of electronic technologies in ensuring their effective functioning. The growth rate of electronic money issuance in Ukraine is significantly lower than in other highly developed countries of the world, which is due to factors of both micro and macro levels. The functioning of these types of payment instruments is subject to market laws, which the state has the opportunity to influence through certain regulatory mechanisms. Therefore, at the present stage, it is relevant to study the development of national electronic payment systems, taking into account global trends and national features of state regulation of electronic money. The purpose of the article is to study the current state of electronic payment systems and generalize recommendations on strategic trends in their development in Ukraine. The research methods are grouping, analysis, synthesis and economic analysis to clearly reflect the functioning of non-cash payments, comparison – to predict growth trends and expansion of the payment infrastructure. The information base of the study is the regulatory and legal support for the functioning of electronic payment systems in Ukraine; annual financial reports and periodic statistical reviews of the NBU, materials from printed and online media regarding the functioning and development of the bank payment card market, etc. The authors analyzed the main indicators characterizing the features of the use of payment cards. It is proven that at the beginning of 2024, a positive trend in the growth of non-cash payments and the expansion of the payment infrastructure continues to persist. In particular, general data on the number of clients, payment cards and payment devices during 2020–2024 were analyzed. The number and amount of transactions carried out using payment cards were also analyzed. It is proven that the popularity of electronic payment systems among Ukrainian consumers is growing. The scientific novelty of the results obtained lies in the formation of the author's analytical approach to the study of factors influencing the state of electronic payment systems using economic analysis tools, as well as the development of recommendations on strategic trends in their development in Ukraine. The practical significance of the results obtained lies in the possibility of using the scientific and theoretical research results proposed in the article in the process of developing electronic payment systems in Ukraine.
