Охарактеризовано здобутки науковців на трьох етапах становлення дошкільної освіти: І етап – зародження наукових досліджень у галузі дошкільної педагогіки; ІІ етап – подальшого розвитку й офіційного визнання здобутків наукових шкіл у галузі дошкільної освіти, що позначився урізноманітненням і поглибленням тематики дослідницьких проблем; ІІІ етап – розширення напрямів науково-педагогічних досліджень, змістового збагачення поля наукових пошуків, перетворення однорівневих наукових шкіл на багаторівневі, створення дочірніх наукових шкіл.The article considers the development of scientific and pedagogical schools in the field of preschool education in Ukraine in the second half of the twentieth century – the beginning of the XXI century. The achievements of scientists at three stages of preschool education are described, namely: the first stage – the emergence of research in the field of preschool pedagogy; the second stage is the stage of further development and official recognition of the achievements of scientific schools in the field of preschool education, which was marked by the diversification and deepening of the topics of research problems; thethird stage – expanding the directions of scientific and pedagogical research, meaningful enrichment of the field of scientific research, transformation of one-level scientific schools into multilevel ones, creation of subsidiary scientific schools. It is noted that the origins of scientific schools in the field of preschool education in Ukraine began to form in the 60–70’s of the twentieth century. Scientific ideas of L. Artemova, A. Bogush, Z. Borysova, E. Vilchkovsky, K. Shcherbakova became the basis for the development of preschool education. It was found that their research helped educators in practical work, contributed to the development of their professional skills, provided a methodological platform for the development of scientific and pedagogical research and their full functioning. It is proved that the second stage is intensification of scientific research in the field of teaching and education of preschoolers, deepening the subjects of scientific research, clarification and development of basic ideas of research programs by L. Artemov, A. Bogush, Z. Borisova, E. Vilchkovsky, K. Shcherbakova. It is revealed that the third stage is characterized by the expansion of their activities, increasing their number, intensive training of scientific and pedagogical staff, expanding the geographical boundaries of schools in the field of preschool education, creating new scientific schools by T. Ponimanska, N. Lysenko.
