Наголошено, що формування професійної компетентності здобувачів вищої освіти є актуальною проблемою, яка є недостатньо розкритою. На підставі аналізу Стандарту вищої освіти України: перший (бакалаврський) рівень, галузь знань 27 – Транспорт, спеціальність 273 – Залізничний транспорт виділено загальні і фахові компетентності. Проаналізовано особливості організації фахової підготовки у закладі вищої освіти та переваги дуальної форми навчання. Окреслено шляхи підвищення освітнього процесу щодо підготовки майбутніх фахівців залізничної галузі. Запропоновано напрямки перспективних досліджень окресленої проблеми.The article is dedicated to the analysis of the development in scientific and pedagogical research of the problem of forming professional competence of future bachelors in railway transport. It emphasizes that the formation of professional competence of higher education seekers is an urgent problem that has not been sufficiently disclosed. Based on the analysis of the Standard of Higher Education of Ukraine: First (Bachelor's) Level, Field of Knowledge 27 – Transport, Specialty 273 – Railway Transport, general and professional competences are highlighted. The features of organizing professional training in higher education institutions and the advantages of the dual form of education are analyzed. The ways to enhance the educational process for the preparation of future specialists in the railway industry are outlined. It is noted that educational components of educational‐professional programs include the formation of a range of professional qualities, however, the term "professional competence of future bachelors in railway transport" is absent in formulating the content of competences, and the structural components of this ability are not determined; a number of educational components significantly contribute to the formation of professional competence of future bachelors in railway transport; study plans do not include disciplines, especially electives, that would contribute to the formation of professional competence of future specialists; participants of the educational process do not have a clear understanding of the structure of professional competence and the methodology for ensuring its successful formation; the educational environment is not sufficiently innovative in terms of forming the professional competence of future specialists; the content of disciplines is supplemented with practical tasks that partially ensure various aspects of forming the professional competence of future bachelors in railway transport.
