У зв’язку з цим актуальною є проблема підготовки майбутніх офіцерів поліції до роботи з попередження та врегулювання міжетнічних конфліктів. Показано, що однією з професійно значущих якостей особистості офіцерів поліції є конфліктологічна компетентність, складником якої є етнічна толерантність. Тому формування етнічної толерантності у курсантів як майбутніх офіцерів поліції є важливим завданням, що стоїть перед закладами вищої освіти МВС України. Визначено поняття «толерантність», «етнічна нетерпимість», «гіперідентичність», «гіпоідентичність». Представлено результати експериментального дослідження формування етнічної толерантності у майбутніх офіцерів поліції у процесі їх професійної підготовки. Виявлено статистично вірогідну наявність позитивної динаміки за більшістю показників в експериментальних групах після вивчення спецкурсу, написання курсових та творчих робіт з означеної проблеми та проведення тренінгу.The article substantiates the relevance of the problem of the emergence of various social, including inter-ethnic, conflicts on the territory of Ukraine, the resolution of which is the duty of police officers. In such cases, the effective performance of official duties by law enforcement officers is possible only under the conditions of formation of conflict-related competence and ethnic tolerance as professional qualities of the individual. In this regard, the problem of training future police officers to work on the prevention and resolution of inter-ethnic conflicts is relevant. It is shown that one of the professionally significant personality qualities of police officers is conflict-related competence, a component of which is ethnic tolerance. Therefore, the formation of ethnic tolerance among cadets as future police officers is an important task facing higher education institutions of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Ukraine. The specified conditions and factors determine a number of features of the professional training of future police officers in institutions of higher education of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Ukraine. The concepts of "tolerance", "ethnic intolerance", "hyper-identity", "hypo-identity" are defined. The term "tolerance" (or tolerance) in the humanities means the absence or weakening of response to some adverse factor as a result of reduced sensitivity to its influence. By definition, readiness is the ability and desire of a person to perform some activity. Therefore, readiness presupposes the presence of a certain system of knowledge, abilities, skills, willpower, as well as professional qualities of the individual. In particular, the readiness to prevent and resolve conflicts, including inter-ethnic conflicts, requires the formation of social and conflictrelated competence and tolerance, in particular ethnic tolerance. The formation of ethnic tolerance as a professionally significant personality quality of the future police officer requires the formation of not only certain knowledge, abilities and skills, but also certain attitudes as components of the specified personality quality. The formation of abilities, skills and attitudes and relationships is facilitated by the performance of special exercises by cadets. One of the promising and effective methods of forming abilities, skills, attitudes and relationships is training and classes with training elements. The results of an experimental study of the formation of ethnic tolerance among future police officers in the process of their professional training are presented.
