Д. Ушинського. Визначено, що сьогодні особливого значення набуваю громадянська компетентність особистості, описано необхідність мати сформовану громадянську компетентність учителю початкової школи. Охарактеризовано особистість, яка має сформовану громадянську компетентність, проведено теоретичний аналіз стану досліджуваної проблеми в сучасній науці, запропоновано вправи, спрямовані на формування визначеного феномену, зазначено, під час вивчення яких дисциплін доцільно проводити таку роботу.The article observes the experience of the formation of civic competence among future primary school teachers in the process of studying pedagogical disciplines at the faculty of primary education of South Ukrainian national pedagogical university named after K.D. Ushynsky. The article defines that nowadays civic competence has a significant meaning. Because school, especially primary one, has to become a place of the formation of citizens with a strong life philosophy, patriots of their country, people with a formed civic consciousness. But this becomes impossible, if a primary school teacher won’t have formed civic competence, so this is why formation of this competence has to be realized during the university education. It mentions that such work is appropriate to be realized through such pedagogical disciplines as “Introduction to the specialty” and “Fundamentals of teaching skills”. The article provides a characteristic of the person, who has a formed civic competence. It’s a person with a strong life philosophy, that is capable of critical analysis of information, and ready to make reasonable decisions; the person that is able to value and maintain traditions of Ukrainian nation, its spiritual values, to understand values of foreign nations, be able to realize his own potential for the benefit of the country; responsible for his civil rights and duties, he is an active patriot of his country, capable of accepting the principles of equality, honesty, tolerance, integrity, etc. The article conducts a theoretical analysis of the state of the investigated problem in modern science, defines insufficiency of research in this field. The article offers exercises, which are determined on the formation of the defined phenomena, like exercises aimed at creation of the positive atmosphere in the classroom “Matching paired cards”, “Bouquet of flowers”, exercise aimed at understanding of values “Raft game”, exercise focused on remembering human rights “Hot Air Balloon Race”, exercise aimed at understanding others “all different, all equal”, exercise “Exclusion”, aimed at understanding the concepts of “justice” and “discrimination”, exercise for understanding political philosophy “Ways to participate in democracy”, exercise for conflict resolution “Brainstorming: conflict and peace”.
