Abstract:	У статті обґрунтовується світоглядна функція наукових понять; конкретизується світоглядне значення поняття «хімічне явище» та основні світоглядні ідеї, які можуть бути сформовані на його основі. Встановлюється взаємозв’язок між компетентнісним підходом в освіті та реалізацією світоглядних функцій понять. In the article substantiated the important role of scientific definitions in the process of forming of outlook. Also it shows us the meaning of the definition of “chemical phenomenon” and the basic ideas of outlook which can be formed on its base. The correlation between the competence approach in studying and realizations of outlook function of the definition are established in the article.
