The article examines the current legislative provision and regulation of the insurance market of Ukraine, reveals the factors that negatively affect the state of the insurance market, in particular: socio-political and economic imbalance; hostilities on the territory of the country and uncertainty. The dynamics of the reduction in the number of insurance companies on the insurance market of Ukraine by 2.2 times were analyzed. Almost 55 percent of risk insurers left the market of insurance services, which was caused by the transfer of regulation and supervision of insurance companies to the NBU from July 1, 2020. In 2020, the number of contracts between insurers and policyholders is significantly lower, which is explained by the onset of the COVID-19 pandemic. A similar situation is observed in 2022–2023, which is connected with active hostilities on the territory of Ukraine. The volume of formed insurance reserves constantly increased in 2020 – 6.97 percent, in 2022 – 12.69 percent, in 2023 – 13.19 percent. The exception was 2021 – 6.85 percent, due to the strengthening of quarantine measures in connection with the increase in the incidence of COVID-19. Analysis of performance indicators of three insurance companies for the period 2020-2023 showed that: at PАТ "HACK "ORANTA" the amount of insurance reserves was constantly increasing, this indicates the company's ability to make payments under concluded and future contracts; the state of the insurance company "Oranta-Sich » is characterized by lower indicators, which may be caused by the ineffective policy of the company and the conduct of hostilities on the territory of Ukraine; negative dynamics are observed in "SC ASKO DS" during the studied period, the net financial result of the company was expressed in the form of a loss, the exception was the year 2022, then the company got super profits. Digital technologies are becoming more and more common in the everyday work of the insurer, namely the provision of insurance services in the online mode. In order to increase profitability, insurance companies need to develop innovative approaches to product promotion, personalize offers and improve customer service.
